Whoop Whoop we got a Chicken Coop
Our next animals are finally settled in and cozy, we have three adorable chickens that are free to roam our whole farm during the day and stay in the chicken coop at night. We have a decent sized chicken coop and we worked hard with grandpa to build a nice chicken run for them to safely roam at night.
The biggest one is called Queenie, her name coming from the fact that she is the queen of the coop, she is a beautiful shade of silver that looks almost blue. The next biggest is Petunia, with no particular meaning to the name besides it’s just fun. Lastly there is my chicken, her name is Nix and she is our black beauty and super friendly. Nixie also has a funny habit of flapping her wings out of the blue. We call them the Pitas and we love seeing them first thing in the morning and getting our fresh eggs for breakfast. They have been such a wonderful and quite productive addition for us.
It’s hilarious to watch our Miniature Australian Shepherd, Sancho, attempt to herd our chickens as he has no experience being a herder, just random instinct to lead them in the wrong direction every time we need to put them up for the evening.
All in all, we’re happy to report on our latest addition to our farm and we welcome the chickens with open arms. We can’t wait till our next adventure begins as we look into adopting more animals!
