Cows?
Wait, we don’t have cows do we?
It all started with the neighbor’s cows. We decided to let our neighbors have their cows graze on our farmland, realizing shortly thereafter that one of them was pregnant. We helped deliver some very adorable calves on our very own land. Did you know that most calves can actually stand up within 30 minutes of being born?! Anyway, they stayed for a while at our farm until the first snowfall and then got moved back to the neighbors barn safe and sound. Three very cute, happy and healthy cows are now being raised in the surrounding fields and are living a happy life. Another interesting fact is that about 50% of milk in Spain is produced in Galicia, meaning we are in cow country.
So after all that excitement did we decide to have our own cows? Absolutely NOT….for now. They are alot of work! There just might be a possible future where we have our own cows on our farm, but for the time being we will stick to the other hundred small farm animals we have in mind for the finca.
