We are so doing this!

Not long ago we decided, YES we’re doing this. So starting early spring 2022 our first crops went in and we’ve been growing our plantations since.

The first crops we planted were garlic and onions followed by 400 apple trees in late February, because this time of year they are still dormant. This was followed by 550 grape vines in April (more to come on our vineyards). We have big plans for so many more plants and trees.

Fast forward to our first harvest season and we've got apples, potatoes, zucchini, peppers, strawberries, leek, tomatoes, corn, artichokes and beans. Not a bad haul considering they had to endure the worst drought on record this summer. There were so many zucchini we actually got to sell them to the local grocery store. You can only eat and freeze so much!

We now have a fully functioning farm that produces quite enough for our own family and more. We have a lot of land for all of this but crops aren’t the only thing to be roaming our grounds, key word roaming...
